Richmond Hill Places of Worship: A Guide

Richmond Hill has a number of places of worship where residents can go and practice their faith. The following are some examples of options available in the area.

Gospel Light Baptist Church

The Gospel Light Baptist Church meets at Richland Academy, 11570 Yonge Street. Sunday morning service starts at 10 a.m. There is a Sunday Evening Service at 6 p.m. as well. This is not a repeat of the Sunday morning service. A Midweek Bible Study is held on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m.

St. Christopher’s Anglican Church

St. Christopher’s Anglican Church is a Chinese parish with locations in Richmond Hill and North York. The Richmond Hill Church is located at 459 Crosby Avenue.

Richmond Hill Pentecostal Church

Richmond Hill Pentecostal Church’s Sunday Services start at 10:30 a.m. with praise and worship. At 11 a.m., prayer time is set aside for those who wish to ask for healing and special needs. The altar ministry and closing prayers take place at 12:15 p.m. A Kid’s Church, nursery and toddler programs are available. The Church is located at 65 Baif Boulevard.

Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church

The Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church is attended by people from 30 countries and all age groups. This denomination “takes the Bible seriously, not literally” and seeks to build a bridge between Scripture that was written 2,000 years ago and the modern world. The Church is situated at 10066 Yonge Street.

St. Matthews United Church

Sunday service at St. Matthews United Church is held at 10:30 a.m. from September to June. In the summer, the service starts at 9:30 a.m. The Church is located at 333 Crosby Avenue. Along with regular worship services, the church offers opportunities to socialize. There is a weekly coffee hour on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., a Euchre night every other Friday starting at 7:30. A Youth Group meets on alternate Fridays as well. Contact the church office to learn more.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church has been serving the residents of Richmond Hill for over 50 years.  This is a small church, but it does offer a Sunday School program where youngsters do crafts and have fun while learning about the Bible. Worship Service with Communion is held on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. at 10131 Bayview Avenue.
